Welcome to Molé in the Wall, a food blog that celebrates the rich and bold flavors of Mexican cuisine and the comforting, hearty dishes of New England. Our name is a playful nod to the classic ‘hole in the wall’ restaurants that often serve up the most delicious and authentic meals. Our names true inspiration, however, is the complex and flavorful traditional Mexican sauce – molé – which can contain up to 40 ingredients, including chili peppers, spices, and chocolate.

As a New England native, I have a deep appreciation for the region’s traditional cooking, which emphasizes simple, hearty meals that warm the soul. This cuisine perfectly aligns with my passion for outdoor cooking, where I love to experiment with new recipes and techniques on the grill or over an open fire.

At Molé in the Wall, we understand that dietary restrictions and preferences are an important part of modern-day eating habits. As someone with a keen interest in health and wellness, I enjoy experimenting with healthy, dairy-free, and gluten-free versions of classic dishes. By using plant-based and clean ingredients, I aim to create recipes that not only honor the rich culinary traditions of these regions but also cater to a variety of dietary needs. Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, or simply looking for a healthier option, you will find plant-based and healthy recipes that are both delicious and nourishing.

HERE YOU CAN FIND HEALTHIER VERSIONS OF YOUR FAVORITE COMFORT FOODS. MANY RECIPES ARE GLUTEN AND DAIRY FREE AND OMIT UNFAVORABLE INGREDIENTS. WHATEVER YOU NEED INSPIRATION FOR-BREAKFASTS, DINNER, SNACKS OR DESSERT YOU CAN FIND SOMETHING TO DELIGHT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!

Hi, I’m Mia, a foodie and creatrix behind Molé in the Wall. My culinary journey kicked off with two seminal seasons from my early years. The first was my job at a small hole in the wall Mexican restaurant when I was just 15, where I fell in love with cooking Mexican food. The second was ‘Sammy’s cooking school’, a weekly event my mom organized where my siblings and I each got a night to cook dinner and learn from her.

When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me in nature with my husband, cooking dinner over a fire, or spending time with family and friends (and obsessing over my cats).

Whether you’re a seasoned cook or just starting out, we invite you to join us on a culinary adventure through the diversity of old world and modern-day cooking. Let’s create meals that are not only delicious but also bring us together and nourish our bodies and souls.

Thank you for stopping by! I always enjoy hearing from you, so please feel free to use the form below if you have any questions or comments.
